Updated: Aug 17, 2022

BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! We are thrilled with the response, submissions and words of encouragement on the advertising fund we recently launched to help SME brands/businesses navigate post-MCO. Here is an interesting infographic to capture it all (for now):

We read your every comment and feedback. We acknowledge that as businesses begin to operate under the Conditional Movement-Control-Order (CMCO), there is so much to catch up on. Hence by demand and after much consideration, we decided to EXTEND the application deadline!

And to help answer any questions you may still have or to help you decide if you should apply for this advertising fund, we have decided to put together the TOP 5 most asked questions. Here goes:

#5: WHERE ARE THE DIGITAL SCREENS LOCATED?

Predetermined premium advertising locations in Klang Valley may include Federal Highway, Jalan Tun Razak, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Bukit Bintang, Sprint Highway, LDP Highway and many others.

Each shortlisted SME will be given an average advertising media value of RM30,000 each. Shortlisted winners will be informed of the predetermined locations subject to availability and at the discretion of the organiser.

#4: WHAT IS THE DURATION OF MY ADVERTISING DISPLAY ON THE DIGITAL SCREEN?

Majority are 15 seconds advertising display whilst some are 10 seconds or 20 secs advertising display (depending on the location of the digital screen). Each shortlisted SME's advertising content will be displayed for 2 weeks from 7am till 12am daily, subject to availability and at the discretion of the organiser.

Below is a reference of a 15-second advertising display. You can also check out our Facebook page to view more past advertising campaigns (do give us a thumbs up on the page too).

#3: AM I QUALIFIED TO PARTICIPATE?

ALL SMEs! The SME DEFINITION by SME Corp. Malaysia is your best reference to ensure that you are under the classification of SME. In addition, your business must be registered in Malaysia, is open for business and operational. You may find more details in our Terms & Conditions of the advertising fund on our website.

#2: IS THERE ANY HIDDEN COST IF MY BUSINESS IS SHORTLISTED?

ABSOLUTELY NONE! No prior or after commitments will be enforced. This fund was created to offer support to Malaysian SMEs most severely affected by the Covid-19 crisis by offering free advertising on Out-of-Home (OOH) digital screens within Klang Valley, to be used once the Movement-Control-Outdoor (MCO) is lifted. We hope this will help create awareness, demand and top-of-mind recall for your business. You may also read about this advertising fund media coverage here.

#1: WHAT IS A SELFIE VIDEO?

It is a video of you or the spokesperson of your business - the simplest, fastest and most convenient way for applicants to answer the questions required as part of the submission process. It can be recorded in either Bahasa Malaysia, English or Chinese/Mandarin. Do note that the production creativity and quality will not be judged. Do not submit company showreel or company credential videos as it does not meet the requirements stated in the submission form.
